Tarzali Lakes Tarzali (5 minutes from Grandview) — The Tarzali Lakes Aquaculture Centre sprawls over 40 acres of lush rolling pastures and picturesque landscaped surrounds. Guaranteed Platypus viewing - 3 tours per day. Over 500,000 fish thrive in 15 ponds, the largest being 5 acres. Species include Barramundi, Golden Perch, Jade Perch, Red Claw (tropical freshwater crayfish) and Eels. Recreational fishermen are always guaranteed a good catch with no disappointments! The Smokehouse café, overlooking our largest lake, serves delicious freshly prepared fish and a wide range of in-house smoked treats.

Malanda (10 minutes from Grandview)

Guided Rainforest Walks Malanda (10 minutes from Grandview) Walk the tracks, follow the footsteps and feel the echoes of thousands of years of culture and dreaming. To really discover the rainforest, book a guided walk with members of the Ngadjon-ji tribe. Elder Ernie Raymont has been guiding visitors through the Malanda rainforests for many years and has an in depth knowledge of the forest and its wildlife. Ernie has been recently joined by his grandson, Drew Morta, who shares his grandfather’s respect for their traditional culture and understanding of the forest. The hour long interpretive walk allows visitors to gain an insight into the Ngadjonji people and their lives in the forest as well as learning some of the traditional uses of the local plants. The walk offers great opportunities for viewing the local wildlife, with regular sightings of both tree kangaroos and possums. Walk with Drew or Ernie on Wednesdays to Sundays at 9.30 and 11am. Malanda Falls Visitor Centre. (10 minutes from Grandview). Features interpretative displays of the Wet Tropics Rainforests, geology and history of the Atherton Tablelands. Entry is free.
Malanda Township (10 minutes from Grandview). Home of the famous Malanda Milk with the longest milk run in the world. Malanda Falls Conservation Park & Tulip Oak Walk on the edge of the North Johnstone River. Platypus and turtle viewing with easy walks amongst the World Heritage Wet Tropics Rainforest. Monthly markets, the Malanda mosaics trail, and the Malanda Dairy Centre with tours of The Dairy Farmers Milk Factory, restaurant and museum.
Nerada Tea Malanda (20 minutes from Grandview). Visit the tea plantation and factory on the Cairns Highlands (Atherton Tablelands) just 10km outside the town of Malanda. The Visitors Centre is open 7 days a week (except Christmas,Boxing and New Years Day) between 9am and 4pm. Discover how tea is grown and processed. Take a tour of the factory (the factory may not always be operational), buy fresh tea or a special gift...Relax and enjoy a Devonshire tea.
Majestic Theatre, Malanda (10 minutes from Grandview) — The Majestic Theatre is one of the oldest continually operating country picture theatres in Australia. Millaa Millaa Waterfall Circuit (15 minutes from Grandview). This picturesque drive winds through some of the best scenery of the Southern Cairns Highlands. Start at the popular Millaa Millaa falls then on to Zillie and Ellinjaa Falls.
Millaa Millaa Village and Lookout (10 minutes from Grandview). The view from Millaa Millaa lookout epitomises the Atherton Tablelands — a patchwork of rolling green hills interspersed with stands of rainforest and the stunning beauty of the World Heritage listed Wooroonooran National Park. Enjoy the historic village of Millaa Millaa.
Mungali Creek Organic/BioDynamic Dairy Millaa Millaa (30 minutes from Grandview). North Queensland's only boutique farmhouse cheesery and tea house offering cheese tasting and unique dairy products.
Mamu Rainforest Canopy Walkway is located 30 minutes South of Grandview in the Wooroonooran National Park. The walkway gives visitors a unique opportunity to have a birds-eye view of the World Heritage Listed North Johnstone River Gorge and experience life amongst the tree tops.
Wooroonooran National Park (25 minutes South of Grandview) The Wooroonooran National Park is an integral part of the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area. Its fertile soils and extremely wet climate have fostered some of the oldest continually surviving rainforests on earth. Some of the walking tracks of the Wooroonooran National Park include Tchupala & Wallicha Falls, Nandroya Falls, and Crawfords Lookout comprising the North Johnstone River Lookout and River Walk. The walking tracks range from 2 to 3 hours and all require a moderate level of fitness.

Yungaburra (20 minutes from Grandview) & District

With a vast collection of the most delicate gifts and souvenirs from handcrafted jewellery to collectables and locally made soaps and cosmetics.
Lake Tinaroo Tinaburra (25 minutes from Grandview) – Lake Tinaroo is the barramundi fishing mecca of Tropical North Queensland. Good boat launching facilities are available at Tinaburra.
Lake Eacham (20 minutes from Grandview). Picturesque Crater Lake in World Heritage Rainforest with abundant wildlife and rainforest walks. Lake Eacham is an ideal for a relaxing picnic and a refreshing swim in the cool, clear mountain water.
Lake Barrine (25 minutes from Grandview). The largest crater lake on the Atherton Tablelands features a relaxing cruise of the lake. Relax at the Lake Barrine Teahouse (owned and operated by the same family for 3 generations) and enjoy a devonshire tea or a light lunch. Take a short walk to the Twin Kauri Pines — amongst Australia's oldest trees with an estimated age of 1000 years.
Curtain Fig Tree (15 minutes from Grandview) - The Curtain Fig Tree is a must see on a visit to the Atherton Tablelands. A raised boardwalk provides good wheelchair access and excellent viewing of the tree. The aerial roots drop 15 metres to the ground creating a spectacular “curtain” effect.
Cathederal Fig Tree (30 minutes from Grandview) - The Cathederal Fig Tree is another wonderful example of a strangler fig tree. A good graded path through the World Heritage listed rainforest allows easy access for all levels of fitness. There is a boardwalk around the tree.

Gallo Dairyland, Atherton (15 minutes from Grandview) — a fully functional dairy farm that is producing a range of gourmet dairy products and hand crafted chocolates.
Tolga Woodworks (30 minutes from Grandview) - Tolga Woodworks Gallery & Café on the Atherton Tablelands, is a most prestigious woodworking centre, which showcases a superb collection of woodwork and craft. The Gallery features the work of local artisans, with woodturning, sculptures, carvings, furniture, beaten iron, slumped glass, decorative pottery and jewellery for sale. The Café is ..'the most delectable food stop..' serving a varied lunch menu from locally grown produce, with espresso, leaf teas & juices
Tableland Regional Art Gallery, Atherton (20 minutes from Grandview) – The Gallery changes works monthly and has a wide range of artist’s works on display from local artists featuring glass blowing, textiles painting and drawing. The Gallery also features major touring exhibitions from Australian and International Artists. Entry to the Gallery is free.

Atherton Chinatown — Atherton Chinatown (managed by the National Trust) developed in the late 1800s, and by the late 1920s was almost deserted. The town left a legacy: a highly significant archaeological site and a unique Chinese temple.
Hastie's Swamp National Park Atherton (25 minutes from Grandview). A well-established bird watching area with approximately 150 recorded species and features an excellent all-weather hide for bird watching.
The Crater & Mt Hypipamie (25 minutes from Grandview) - Mount Hypipamee Crater was formed by an explosive eruption of volcanic gases which blasted through solid granite. Angular blocks of granite as large as refrigerators can be found in the surrounding rainforest. The Crater has sheer granite walls rising 58 metres above the lake which is 82 metres deep. An easy 400 metre bitumen walking track leads through the rainforest to a viewing platform above the crater. From here you can continue on with the Dinner Falls Circuit. The walk zigzags down the hillside to Dinner Falls, a series of cascades in the Barron River, accessible from the track. A small cement weir forms a reasonably deep pool, a pleasant place for walkers to relax on a hot day.
Halloran’s Hill Conservation Park Atherton (25 minutes from Grandview) – Located atop a dormant volcano the lookout offers the most spectacular view over the Atherton Tablelands. Visitors will enjoy panoramic views over the patchwork of farmlands through to Lake Tinaroo and the Seven Sisters volcanic landscape.
Rocky Creek War Memorial Park (30-40 minutes from Grandview) Located a few kilometres along the Kennedy Highway north of Tolga, the Rocky Creek Memorial Park is situated on the 2/2 Australian General Hospital laundry and medical stores site. During World War II the Tableland area became the largest military base in Australia with camps at Tinaroo, Kairi, Atherton, Wongabel, Herberton, Wondecla, Ravenshoe and Garnet. Rocky Creek was the site of the largest military hospital in the Southern Hemisphere - a 3000 bed hospital which treated over 60,000 patients from 1943 to 1945.
