The Tropical Atherton Tablelands and Cairns Highlands can be enjoyed by visitors with varying levels of fitness and physical capabilities.
Grandview Country Retreat provides a base for visitors to explore the unique attractions of the region. The Highlander Suite allows for wheelchair access by a gentle ramp and the main garden at Grandview has formed pathways which are suitable for wheelchairs. Vehicle access is available to the Highlander Suite. The bathroom facilities in the Highlander Suite are not suitable for guests who require full wheelchair accessibility.The following attractions on the Atherton Tablelands have wheelchair accessibility:
Mamu Canopy Walkway, Wooroonooran National Park — The ground-level forest walk and the elevated walkway (but not the upper deck of the observation tower) are accessible for wheelchairs with assistance, strollers, and people with impaired vision or mobility. Wheelchair accessible toilets.
Malanda Falls Conservation Park — access to the turtle/platypus viewing platform via a bitumen pathway.
Millaa Millaa Falls — wheelchair accessible toilets. The falls can be viewed from the bus parking area.
Curtain Fig Tree — There is an elevated boardwalk around the Curtain Fig Tree.
Lake Barrine, Crater Lakes National Park — There is a boardwalk to the one thousand year old Twin Kauri Pines. Lake Barrine Tea House is accessible and has wheelchair accessible toilets.
Lake Eacham, Crater Lakes National Park — Toilets and some tracks and boardwalks are wheelchair-accessible with assistance.
Mount Hypipamee National Park — The track to the crater viewing platform is sealed.
Wooroonooran National Park — The toilets in the camping area at Henrietta Creek are wheelchair accessible.
Hastie's Swamp (Nyletta Wetlands) — An all weather bird hide provides excellent wheelchair access on the ground floor. Wheelchair accessible toilets also provided.
Baron Gorge National Park — The upper section of the Baron Gorge has wheelchair accessible facilities. Baron Falls lookout and boardwalk has pedestrian link with assistance.
Danbulla Forest Drive — Platypus Bay day use area, Kauri Creek, and The Chimenys have wheelchair accessible toilets.
Lake Tinaroo — The Dam Wall lookout is wheelchair accessible. The Lake Tinaroo foreshore walk has a concrete path which is suitable for wheelchairs.
Davies Creek National Park — Wheelchair accessible toilets.
Dindeen National Park — The Clohesy Fig Tree Walk (600m) is wheelchair accessible.
Forty Mile Scrub National Park — The picinic facilities, toilet and walking track are wheelchair accessible.
Halloran's Hill Lookout, Atherton — Sealed pathway to the picnic areas.
Malanda Falls Visitor Centre — wheelchair access via a ramp. Disabled toilet facilities.
Malanda Dairy Centre — great place for morning or afternoon tea with the opportunity to take a step back in time to explore the dairy industry of the Atherton Tablelands. Wheelchair accessible facilities.
Ravenshoe Visitor Centre & Nganyaji Interpretive Centre — Wheelchair accessible facilities.
Herberton Mining Museum & Visitor Centre — Wheelchair accessible facilities.
Mareeba Heritage Museum & Visitor Centre — Wheelchair accessible facilities.
